DAY 1
Airport / Colombo

  • You would be met by your personal Chauffeur Guide at the Colombo International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Colombo
  • Rest of the day at Leisure

DAY 2
Colombo

  • Rest of the day at Leisure (On request Colombo City Tour day or by night – Shopping – Various Restaurants – Nightclubs etc)
  • Breakfast & Overnight Stay at the Hotel.

 

DAY 3
Colombo / Pinnawela / Dambulla / Kandalama

  • Breakfast at your hotel and transfer to Dambulla en route visit the Orphanage at Pinnawela. The Orphanage was established to feed nurse and house young elephants found abandoned by their mothers. Thereafter, continue your journey to the Rock Cave temple of Dambulla. Some of the frescoes in these Caves are over 2000 years old.

DAY 4
Kandalama / Sigiriya / Polonnaruwa / Kandalama

  • Breakfast proceed to Sigiriya – Climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the 5th Century Rock Fortress which is a world heritage site built by King Kashyapa.the spectacular citadel of Sigiriya rises sheer and impregnable out of the denuded plains of the dry zone, sitting atop a huge outcrop of gneiss rock towering 200m the surrounding countryside, It is the most memorable single attraction, a remarkable archeological site made unforgettable by its dramatic settings & thereafter at leisure proceed to Polonnaruwa, with Lunch at a restaurant of your choice – visit the 2nd Capital of Sinhalese Kings dating back to the 11th & 12th century, The entire landscape of the region is surrounded by huge man made reservoirs, the most famous of which is the Parakrama Samudra,Numerous monuments are found in the City. The Gal Vihara complex is one of the best among them with the fine sculptures etc.

Kandalama / Minneriya / Kandalama

  • Early Breakfast at your hotel and at leisure proceed on a Village Safa
  • Late Afternoon – Elephant Back Safari and Wildlife Safari

DAY 6
Kandalama / Kandy

  • Early Breakfast at your Hotel, and proceed to Kandy, en route visit the Spice Garden at Matale and at leisure proceed to your hotel in Kandy

DAY 7
Kandy

  • AM Visit the City of Kandy, the most famous Landmark of Kandy is the Lake, in the center of the City. The Kandy market is a great bazaar full of sounds and existing trade. Visit the Botanical Gardens, Temple of the sacred tooth relic of Buddha and the Gem Museum / Lapidary Late in the evening View the Kandyan Cultural Performance.

DAY 8
Kandy / Nuwara Eliya (Morning Train Ride to Nanu Oya (Reserved Seats Subject to availability)

  • From Kandy to Nuwara Eliya the road starts to ascend steadily, you will have climbed 1,500m, You are now in the Tea Country where you will see tea plantations and out of the green in regular interval the white colored Tea Factories, Waterfalls will enchant your eyes, Occasionally you would see a few Rice Fields and Vegetable Plantations.
  • The Resort town of Nuwara Eliya which is also called Little England is situated 2070m above sea level and lies on a little Lake and is surrounded by mountains covered over and over by tea bushes.

DAY 9
Nuwara Eliya

  • Breakfast – Drive through the little town observing the well maintained buildings of colonial Architecture. Visit the busy market where the tea plantation workers rush in and out with their day’s provisions, Drop in at the Hakgala Botanical Gardens, Seetha Amman Kovil. Roman Catholic Church or spend the evening walking in the cool climate.
  • On request Excursion by Jeep to Horton Plains (Guide Provided)
  • You will also get the opportunity to visit a Tea Factory + taste one of the finest teas in the world.

DAY 10
Nuwara Eliya / Ella / Buduruwagala / Kataragama / Yala

  • After Breakfast leave for Tissamaharama region Stop at Ella to admire the magnificent view. Then visit Buduruwagala and the sacred city of Kataragama.Optional Lunch at Tissamaharama, or proceed direct to your hotel
  • Spend the evening at the Hotel
  • Breakfast and Overnight stay at the Camp Site

 

DAY 11
Yala

  • Early start Game drive to Yala (Leopard Safari to Yala National Park)
  • Yala National Park
  • The most popular national park in Sri Lanka. Established in 1938 with a land area of approx 121000 ha. This park is situated in the Hambantota and Monaragala district. It is home for almost all the animals and birds that are found in Sri Lanka.

DAY 12
Yala / Hambantota / Weligama / Galle

  • Breakfast and drive along Sri Lanka’s coast proceed to Galle, En route view the Stilt fishermen of Weligama and visit the Galle fortress, which was built by the Dutch.
  • The old part of the City within the Dutch Fort built in the 17th century has been declared a world Heritage site by UNESCO. A walk on the ramparts will give you an excellent view of the ancient harbor which was known as Tarshish in the bible. We will pass the District Court and the original entrance to the Fort en route to the Dutch Reformed Church built in the 17th century, Galle has also become famous in the recent past for the quality of boutique hotels, which have sprung up within the Fort. The New Town to the north of the Fort was badly affected by the tsunami in 2004.Galle is the home of the famous International cricket stadium, which is been re-built.

DAY 13
Galle / Hikkaduwa / Balapitiya / Bentota / Beruwela / Colombo

  • Breakfasts proceed to Colombo En route visit the Turtle Hatchery + you would have the opportunity to explore the Madu Ganga River which is a shallow water body in the south-west of Sri Lanka.
  • The Buddhist Amarapura Nikaya sect had its first upasampada (higher ordination ceremony) on a fleet of boats anchored upon it in 1803.
  • Together with the smaller Lakes, to which it is connected by two narrow channels, it forms the Madu Ganga wetland. Its estuary and the many mangrove islets on it constitute a complex coastal wetland ecosystem. Has high ecological, biological and aesthetic significance, being home to 303 species of plants belonging to 95 families and to 248 species of animals. It might be one of the last remaining tracts of pristine mangrove forests in Sri Lanka.
  • The inhabitants of its islets produce peeled cinnamon and cinnamon oil. The River Safari into Maduganga Swamps is therefore an important Stop over for all those traveling down the south west coast of Sri Lanka.
